Alternatives to Qwitter

MG Siegler from VentureBeat noted that Qwitter didn’t seem to be working these days. Qwitter is the service that e-mails you when someone stops following you on Twitter. As one commenter said:

The news about Qwitter is a little disheartening. The lack of Qwitter emails lately was making me think that I was actually starting to become liked…

In the very same comment thread, there are also a lot of very interesting recommendations from readers as to what the alternatives to Qwitter are.

The most cited is Socialtoo. Socialtoo works with Twitter, Facebook and Identi.ca (weird combination, but ok). It gives users a whole set of tools to keep track of contacts on those social platforms: social surveys, auto-follow, auto-unfollow, and daily stats which include the information on those who unfollowed you. They are pretty well armed: How come they don’t have an automatic unfollow those who unfollow you.

Another service to replace Qwitter is Twitterless. Twitterless has an impressive suite of festures to help you keep track of your Twitter followship: graphs and stats, filter search in your friends and followers’ tweet history (I’ll be using this one), locate followers on a map, create groups, and of course notifications of quitters.

Friendorfollow is a simple service that tells you who you follow that don’t follow you back. It doesn’t have the same integrated features as the two other websites above, but the service is really fun and… useful. I am so amazed I am following people I don’t even know who they are. And they’re not even following me back! I took advantage of Qwitter being down to do a little Twitter friend laundry. hihi, evil!
